Adult Choir

• Description: Sing in choir at 10:30 Mass (High School Students and Adults)

• Qualifications:Willing to sing and attend practice.
• When: 10:30am Mass and & practice on Wednesday evenings

Altar Servers

• Description: Young girls and boys who will assist the priest at Mass and other liturgical celebrations. 

• Qualifications: Must be parishioners of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, have received First Holy Communion and be at least in the fourth grade.  Training required.
• When: When Scheduled.

Broadcast Ministry

• Description: The Broadcast Ministry comprises a group of people who are excited about delivering the Mass to those who cannot attend or who want to experience the Mass from home.  It’s a critical and important ministry that uses video and audio equipment and easy software to present both live broadcasts and recordings of the Mass and other celebrations.

• Qualifications: New members need only have a general aptitude with a laptop, and reliably show up for the Mass time you sign up for.  The process is very easy, and training and support are provided until you’re comfortable.
• When: The Saturday 4pm vigil Mass is broadcast and recorded each week.  One member is assigned each week on a rotating sign up. The assigned member should arrive at least by 3:45 to confirm that everything is on and setup.  The broadcast ends when Mass is concluded.  No additional work is required outside of the broadcast session
• Where: The broadcasting occurs from the church choir loft.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

• Description: Assist in distributing the Eucharist. 

• Qualifications: Mature, faithful, registered parishioners, regularly attending Mass at Saint Mark the Evangelist who are in full Communion with the Catholic Church, have received the Sacraments of Initiation and completed the required training.

Greeters

• Description: Volunteers greet and welcome those coming to Mass. 

• Qualifications: A friendly welcoming greeting and smile.
• When: Arrive 20 mins before the Mass you are scheduled
• Where: At the doors entering the church.

Lectors

• Description: Proclaim the Word of God at Mass. 

• Qualifications: Mature, faithful, registered parishioners, regularly attending Mass at Saint Mark the Evangelist who are in full Communion with the Catholic Church, have received the Sacraments of Initiation and completed the required training.

Mass Coordinators

• Description: Responsible for the preparation and execution of the Mass. 
  • Some activies are:
    • Unlock the Church
    • Prepare the altar and credence table for Mass
    • Confirm all assigned ministers are present as there is a sign in sheet in the Narthex
    • Ensure the Mass runs smoothly and assist the priest in whatever he needs
    • After Mass, return and clean all vessels used during Mass to the sanctuary. 
    • Ensure the Church is in good order and locked.    

• Qualifications: Willingness to serve

Ministers to the Sick/Homebound

• Description: Bringing the Eucharist to those who cannot attend Mass. 

• Qualifications: Mature, faithful, registered parishioners, regularly attending Mass at Saint Mark the Evangelist who are in full Communion with the Catholic Church, have received the Sacraments of Initiation and completed the required training.
• When: Assisted Living – Sunday 10:30am and Monday 10:30am.  Homebound TBD.
• Where: Assisted Living (Danbury and Somerby)

Petals of Praise

• Description: The Petals of Praise ministry aims to enhance our worship experience here at Saint Mark  by providing altar floral arrangements for weekly services, holidays and other special occaions. 

• Qualifications: Anyone with an interest in flowers and plants is encouraged to pariticipate. All are welcome.
